HOW TO FORM A NEW CHAPTER
Bylaw Information Regarding Chapters
A. Any group of fifteen or more individuals who qualify for Regular Membership of this Association may apply for a State Charter as a Chapter of this Association. The Association encourages that the Chapters be made up of the various classifications of membership. This Association also encourages the formation of special interest affiliate groups within the organization.
B. In order to be recognized as a state-affiliated chapter, a chapter must maintain a minimum of fifteen (15) Regular Members in good standing. Chapters that do not meet the above qualifications shall be given provisional status. Chapters will be reviewed annually by the Chapter Charter Evaluation Committee to determine present status and to report to the General Assembly.
C. All chartered chapters must submit four quarterly fiscal reports to the State Treasurer by April 15, July 15, October 15, and January 15 in order to comply with State and Federal requirements.
D. Procedures for establishment of chapters shall be delineated in the Association’s Organizational and Procedural Handbook.
E. Regular members must join the Association if they wish to join a chapter. They may not join the chapter without dual membership in the local chapter and State AMAE.
